In the original Melvor Idle, transitioning from a melee slayer task to an archery dungeon or magic farming session required laborious inventory management. Players had to manually unequip and re-equip 10 individual armor slots, re-slot arrows, and re-select active spell runes.
Melvor Idle 2 solves this friction by introducing Dedicated Equipment Loadouts. Players can configure completely independent presets for each combat style—saving gear, ammunition, prayers, and food allocations. This modernization pairs seamlessly with the survival fundamentals outlined in our Combat & Auto-Eat Guide.
Core Preset Configurations
To tackle the diverse encounters across Melvor, every player should establish three core combat presets:
Preset 1: The Fortress Vanguard (Melee Tank)
- Primary Purpose: High-density physical mob farming, goblin raids, and tanking physical boss strikes.
- Weapon & Shield: Abyssal Scythe or Master Rapier paired with Dragonfire Shield.
- Armor Set: Full Gilded Dragonplate or Beastcrafted Boarplate.
- Accessories: Amulet of Torture, Guardian Ring, Cape of Primal Might.
- Target Metrics: 45%+ Damage Reduction (DR), high Slash accuracy, and heavy physical evasion.
Preset 2: The Deadeye Stalker (Ranged DPS)
- Primary Purpose: Shredding enemy spellcasters and clearing wide multi-target waves per the Combat Triangle Guide.
- Weapon & Ammo: Ancient Crossbow paired with Diamond-Tipped Bolts, or Master Shortbow with Feathered Arrows.
- Armor Set: Black Dragonhide Body & Chaps or Wyrmscale Hunter Leathers.
- Accessories: Deadeye Amulet, Hunter Trophy Pendant, Quiver of Endless Flight.
- Target Metrics: Rapid attack interval (<2.2s), high critical strike multiplier, and 25%+ ammo preservation.
Preset 3: The Astral Archmage (Magic Burst)

- Weapon & Off-hand: Cloudburst Staff or Imbued Mystic Wand paired with Tome of Ancient Elements.
- Armor Set: Celestial Robes or Voidweaver Shroud.
- Accessories: Amulet of Fury, Warlock Ring, Cape of Arcane Mastery.
- Target Metrics: 100% Spell Accuracy, high rune preservation chance, and life-stealing curse synergies.

- Double-Check Food Allocations: Ensure every active loadout has a designated food slot equipped with high-tier cooked fish or roasted meats.
- Lock Valuable Preset Gear: Use the bank lock icon on all equipment assigned to presets to prevent accidental selling or high-alchemy disposal.
[!TIP] Always install an Amulet of Looting into your standard farming preset! Without the Amulet of Looting equipped, monster drops will sit on the ground and despawn after 16 uncollected kills, wasting valuable gold and rare drops while you sleep.
